R.O. Griggs, Sr.
Services for R.O. Griggs, Sr., 89, of Troy who died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Edge Regional Medical Center will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at the funeral home.
Mr.Griggs was born March 11, 1914, in Pike County. His parents were William Henry Griggs and Lucy Bell Dunn. He was a retired auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Idell Griggs of Troy; four sons, Wade Griggs, Donnie Griggs and Larry Griggs all of Troy and R. O. Griggs, Jr. of Montgomery; three daughters, Carolyn Mann of Dothan, Dolly Norris of Chipley, Florida; brother, Doc Griggs of Opp; sister, Lucille Ivey of Troy and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Linda Allen of Brundidge, died April 22, 2003.

Services for Linda G. Allen, 60, of Brundidge who died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at her home will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ with Minister Chris Barnett officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery in the Hamilton Crossroads Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday April 23 at the funeral home. There will be a 30 minute lie-in-state prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her father, R.O. Griggs, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry B. Allen of Brundidge; children, Jerry Michael Allen of Prattville, Jeffrey (Binkey) Allen of Wetumpka, Tracia Lynn Lipham of Bonaire, Georgia and Daphne Anne Phillips of Eufaula; mother, Idell Griggs of Troy; grandchildren, Tucker Allen, Gabby Phillips, Courtney Lawrence, Kaylan Tyre, Taylor Allen, Kaitlyn Allen, Rhett Allen, Haley Lipham, Hunter Lipham and Triston Allen; sisters, Caroline Mann of Dothan and Dolly Norris of Chipley, Florida; brothers, Donny Griggs, Larry Griggs, Wade Griggs and Robert Griggs all of Troy and a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Woody and Gertrude Allen of Brundidge.

Graveside services for Joe Frank Ming, 61, of Banks who died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at his home will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at
Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Banks with Rev. Billy Fortune officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the funeral home.
Mr. Ming was born June 16, 1941. He was a carpenter at Henderson Black & Green.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Mency.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda and Nathen Allen of Banks; son, Daniel Ming of Norcross, Georgia; grandson, Benjamin Allen of Banks; granddaughter, Lashey Simmons of Banks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Winfred and Hilda Sanders of Banks, Edna and Jerry Mancel of Troy, Lois and James Langley of Banks, Ruth and Benny Cooper of LA, Linda and David Pate of Phenix City, Mary Ann Williams and Debbie Blankenship of Brundidge and Irene Wright of Phenix City; brothers, Benny Ming of GA, Wallace McEllwee of Phenix City and James and Charlie Ming both of Troy.
