season for a deserving TSU team

The Troy State University Trojans closed a tremendous season on a sad note with Saturday’s 17-10 loss to Florida A&M.
Despite the loss, the Trojans have showed remarkable talent, strength and courage this season, going 11-2, losing two highly charged games to McNeese State University and Florida A&M.
And while it is the losses that stand out so fully this year because there were so few of them and the ones that TSU suffered blemished an otherwise incredible season, it is the wins that we should remember looking back.
TSU’s seniors, showing courage, leadership and terrific sportsmanship ended this year on a note of heartache and loss, but the work they did, along with the TSU coaching staff, went a long way to putting TSU in the national spotlight this year and helped mature and grow the younger players for the seasons to come.
While those seniors will not be here to do battle on Scrushy Field at Memorial Stadium next year, the legacy they left, symbolized by hard work, determination and pride in winning and losing will have an impact on the program for years to come.
We hate to see the season wind to a close, like so many others in the community. It was magical, victorious and it made us all proud of the work that was done.
Still, whether in winning or losing, all things must come to an end. This one came a little too soon, but we have some incredible memories to take with us.
Thanks to the TSU football team, the coaching staff, the guys in the Sports Information Department for a year of thrills, excitement and fun. But we would like most of all to say thank you for showing the world what teamwork, the spirit of cooperation and the strength of one incredible team and community can do when it is focused and channeled.
Good luck to all the seniors who will be moving on. Your accomplishments in life, at a tender age, are already staggering. Keep up your tradition of success on and off the field and go out and continue to do great things for your selves, your families and your communities.
