Ernest Crowley, 85, of the Springhill Community died on Thursday, April 27, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2000 at Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Donny Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Street Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include wife, Ruth Crowley of Troy; four daughters, Fennie Rhett of Bridgeton, N.J., Katie (Richard) Handy of Millville, N.J., Dorothy Nolan of Salem, N.J., and Babara Reid of Conyers, Ga.; two sons, W.C. (Ruth) Crowley of Vineland, N.J., and Ernest (Shirley) Crowley of Dallas, Texas; two devoted nephews, Sam Threats and Stonie Smith, both of Geneva; 32 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and friends.
Crowley was born April 4, 1915 in Geneva County.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, and until 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4.
Irma Davis Powell
Irma Davis Powell of Troy died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Montgomery.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Rev. Danny Doss officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include one daughter and a son-in-law, Ed and Linda Kelly of Montgomery, a grandson and his fiance, Dennis (Bubba) Kelly and Kristy Hautt of Montgomery; one sister, Voncile Weeks of Montgomery.
Powell was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Pee-Wee Powell.
Pallbearers are Pugh D. Davis, Fred Krepps, Mike Hogan, Keith Ellis, Carl Lawson, Terry McPherson, and Jim Woest.
Honorary pallbearers for the service are the Troy Kiwanis Club and the American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Troy.
Velma Carroll Smith
Velma Carroll Smith, 82, of Troy died Friday, April 28, 2000.
Services were held at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Revs. Keith Reynolds and Mack Lowery officiating. Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include husband, J.T. Smith of Troy; daughters and sons-in-law, June Smith and Charles Giddens of Millbrook, Brenda Smith and Lyle Orr of Phoenix, Patricia and Scott Sharpe of Troy, and daughter Bonnie Richardson also of Troy; grandchildren, Deric Giddens of Norfolk, Dan Giddens of Virginia Beach, Michael Giddens of Atlanta, Curtis Orr and Brandon Orr of Phoenix, Jeff Richardson of Birmingham, and Bryant Sharpe of Banks; great-grandchildren, Emily Giddens and Paul Giddens of Norfolk, Harleigh Wood, Teaghan Sharpe, and Dariene Sharpe of Banks; one sister, Ruby Fredrick of Troy.
Smith was preceded in death by a grandchild, Stefanie Sharpe.

Kaylan Leighanne Tharp, infant, died Saturday, March 25, 2000.
Services were held Monday, March 27, 2000 at Kirkpatrick Cemetery in Morristown, Tenn. Local announcements were
made by Skeen Funeral Home.
Survivors include her parents, Tim and Heather Tharp; grandparents, Rick and Angela Bowling of Troy, formerly of Arcadia, Fla.; Donnie and Diane Tharp and Debbie and Jeffery Chany of Morristown, Tenn.; an uncle, Michael Bowling of Port Charlotte, Fla.; aunts, Erica (Bowling) Walxer, formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., Kendra Tharp of Morristown, Tenn,; great-grandparents, Eddie and Thelma Hartman, formerly of Arcadia, Fla., Dallas and Mary Tharp, Andy and Anna Marie Bolden, Mable Chany, all of Morristown, Tenn.; great-grandmother, Glenna (Hartman) Sexton of Punta Gorda, Fla., and other family from Florida and Tennessee.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at Green Hills Memorial Park with the Rev. James Stephens officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include three children, Frank Young, Gary Young, and Betty Jane Young; three sisters, Eulla Young Curtis of Maitland, Fla., Eve Young Wilkes of Birmingham, and Billie Young of Edgewater, Fla.; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other close relatives.
No visitation will be held. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10 a.m.
