Dunn announces candidacy for Troy Council, District 1

Charlie Dunn Sr. is seeking a seat on the Troy City Council.
Dunn, sometimes called "Sarge," is running for the District 1 position.
He is a retired senior noncommissioned officer of the U.S. Army. During his military career, he served in the Korea War and the Vietnam War. He is also a retired civil service worker and former insurance salesman.
In the community, Dunn is best known as the founder of "Charlie’s Angels," an organization in which he takes a great deal of pride.
"We have been able to help a lot of people in the community," Dunn said of the organization’s efforts.
Dunn said he decided to run after being approached by friends who "indicated that there is a need for new leadership in District 1.
"Plus, I also have a desire to serve the people of District 1 and the citizens of Troy.
"I am ready, willing and able to serve."
Dunn calls himself a "Christian, family man." He and his wife, Eunice, have five children, four of whom attended the Troy City Schools.
He is a member of Beulah Hill Baptist Church in Banks, where he serves on the deacon board and teaches Sunday school.
