Pike County teams fall in Eufaula Tipoff Tourney

Pike County opened up the 2000 basketball season on Thursday night at the Eufaula Tribune Tipoff Classic.
The Bulldogs lost the first game to the Eufaula Tigers 64-40. The Tigers placed three players in double figures with freshman Bobby Norton leading the way. Norton had 18 points and was followed by Stephen Davis and Antonio Dennis, who had 16 and 12 points respectively.
Sam Diggs led the Bulldogs with 9 points.
The Lady Tigers improved to 4-0 with a 71-25 beating of Pike County in the Lady Bulldogs first game of the year. Deacquelyn Rodgers led PCH with 18 points.
On Friday, Dothan handed the Bulldogs their second in loss in as many games, 67-43.
Chris Springfield led Dothan with 21 points. Adrian Folmar and Corey Burkett each had 14 for the Tigers and Larry Brackin had 10.
Shermandre Jackson had 14 to lead Pike County.
The PCH girls’ team also fell on Friday night, 45-19 to Dothan. Stephanie Caffie led the Lady Bulldogs with seven points.
