TPD arrests robbery suspect

The Troy Police Department arrested a suspect yesterday in connection with an April 25 armed robbery in Troy, according to Chief Anthony Everage of the Troy Police Dept.

Sedric Jervon Grandberry, 19, of Troy was arrested and charged with robbery first degree. Grandberry is being held in the Pike County Jail and his bond has been set at

The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. April 25 at a convenience store on South Brundidge Street in Troy. Police advise the suspect entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect was armed with a handgun during the crime.

The clerk and a customer occupied the business when it was robbed, and an undetermined amount of money was taken during the robbery. No one was injured during the robbery, and the suspect fled on foot and was last seen running north on South Brundidge Street.

Everage advised Troy Police officers to follow up on leads in the case, which resulted in the arrest of Grandberry.

"Many hours were put into this investigation by Troy Police," Everage said.
