Ernest H. Allen, 86, of Troy died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001 at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Ara Allen officiating. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Helen Martin of Route 2, Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Colley and Jean Allen of Route 2, Troy; five grandchildren, Virginia (Ronnie) Money, Leslie Jackson (Kathy) Allen, Vickie Lane Allen and Jody Davis and Lex Harvey (Melinda) Allen; eight great-grandchildren, Ronnie Money, Brandon and Kayla Allen, Jody Davis, Logan Allen, Morgan Allen, Delaney Allen and Casey Allen; two sisters, Aretta Senn and Ruby Jane Mobley, both of Brundidge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Florence Allen and son-in-law, James Willis Martin.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Allen, Lex Allen, Jody Davis, Gene Fortune, Ronnie Money and Preston Senn.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
John Moren Rotenberry
John Moren Rotenberry, 85, of Troy died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001 at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Pastor Roger Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park, Highway 29, with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rotenberry of Troy; two granddaughters, Leslie Ann Rotenberry and Glenda Edwards of Troy; two grandsons, Blaine Rotenberry and Kevin Edwards of Idaho; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Edwards, Daniel Rotenberry, Jonathan Dennis and Cody, Dillian and Dustin Edwards; brother, Edgar Rotenberry of Brundidge; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Louise and Joe W. Smith of Selma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Layton and Lena Rotenberry; a daughter, Leslie Ann Rotenberry; a son, David Moren Rotenberry; and three sisters, Beverly Louise Jones, Betty Josephine Smith and Alga Mae Rotenberry.
Pallbearers will be Tim Arnett, Larry Campbell, Stephen Colburn, Buster Griffin, Butch Griffin, George Griffin, Aubry Smith, Little Joe Smith and Jerry Weimann.
Charles Henderson Senn
Charles Henderson Senn, 85, of Brundidge died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ with Ministers Doug Williams and Jason Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Grissette Senn of Brundidge; two daughters, Ann Carter of Gainesville, Ga. and Saundra Carter of Akron, Ohio; son, Larry Senn of Delray Beach, Fla.; sister, Lucille Fox of Vero Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.
Sara Frances Smith Anderson
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Frances Smith Anderson, 86, of Lineville will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001 at First United Methodist Church in Lineville with Dr. Jerry Herston officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville directing.
Mrs. Anderson passed away Sept. 22 after a long illness. She was a native of Clay County. A graduate of Montevallo University, she taught school in Huntsville then
moved to Andalausia as part of her Home Demonstration work. She later moved to Troy and went into Social Welfare Services and met her husband, Frank Sims Anderson. After his death, she moved to Lineville to help care for her mother. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Lineville, the Day Circle, Daughters of the American Revolution, Peter Fields 17th Century Colonial Dames, Delta Gamma Kappa and Inter Se. When she lived in Troy, she was active at First Baptist Church of Troy.
She is survived by one sister, Katherine Golsan of Lineville; two brothers, Lloyd Jackson Smith of Warwick, N.Y. and Dr. Charles Lynwood Smith Sr. of Huntsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cicero and Annie Carpenter Smith; husband, Frank Sims Anderson; one sister, Evangelene Smith Jackson of Sullegent; and five brothers, John William Smith, James R. Smith, Paul Carpenter Smith, all of Lineville, Clemon C. Smith of Eclectic and T.W. Smith of Panama City, Fla.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Winnie Huckaby Sunday School class.
The family will receive friends until the service time on Tuesday at Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville.
