Meadows’ March of Dimes Golf Classic set for Monday, Oct. 12

The second annual Brian Meadows March of Dimes golf classic will be held Monday, Nov. 12, at the Troy Country Club.
The 11 a.m. tournament is a four-man scramble, with prizes offered for first and second place gross and net. There will also be door prizes available, and lunch is included. The entry fee is $75 per player, and $300 per team.
Brian came up through Troy’s recreation baseball program, was a standout pitcher at Charles Henderson High School and has been in professional baseball since 1994. Brian broke in with the Florida Marlins, and has also spent time with the San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals. The right-handed pitcher spent the second half of the season in AAA with the KC organization, winning five of his last six starts.
Brian will play in the tournament again this year, and all local golfers and businesses are encouraged to participate. All proceeds will go towards the March of Dimes. With the tournament being played on the day of Veteran’s Day observance, this should also be an appealing tournament to those golfers who have the day off from work.
Anyone interested in playing should contact Dan Smith at 566-2821 or 566-4031.
