PLAS splits at Fort Dale, PCHS drops two

The tenth-ranked Lady Patriots’ Beth Anderson dropped in 19 points, while forward Rae Pinckard added 12. Lindy Lunkenheimer, held scoreless the night before at Lee-Scott, scored 10 points.
Ashley Paulk had 12 to lead the Lady Eagles.
In boy’s varsity action, PLAS (10-11) dropped its second straight game to a ranked opponent, losing to No. 4 Fort Dale, 58-44.
Druid Conrad scored 15 points in a losing effort.
Josh Till had 14 points to lead Fort Dale (17-4). Brett Paulk had 13 and Ty Langston added 10.
PLAS entertained Hooper on Monday night.
Barbour County came out on top of Pike County in both varsity boy’s and girl’s action on Saturday night.
The fourth-ranked Lady Jaguars beat the Lady Bulldogs 47-42 and were led by Brenda Deeson’s 15 points and 11 boards. Reba Ross had 13 points and Stephanie Oliver added 11.
Dee Dee Rodgers had 14 to lead Pike County, while Wennica Foster chipped in 10.
The fourth-ranked defending 2A champ Jaguars knocked off Pike County 69-61 as Antonio Thomas led all scorers with 22 points. Michael Blackmon had 14 points to go along with 12 boards and Richard Mitchell added 13.
Codie Terry led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
