Post leads the way as CHHS soccer opens with win

Josh Post started off the 2002 CHHS Soccer campaign where he left off in 2001.
Post scored four goals and assisted on two others as the Trojans defeated the Rehobeth Rebels 8-2.
Newcomers Patrick Malden and Fernando White added two goals each to help the Trojans’ effort.
The score was tied at 1-1 after the first, but the Rebels came out on fire in the second half and put a lot of pressure on the Trojans, taking a 2-1 lead at the three minute mark.
Malden tied the game the a few minutes later and Post followed with his first goal in the game on a penalty kick. He added another at minute 17 and completed the hat trick with a direct kick outside the box. White put the Trojans up 7-2 with an assist from Post and the 38th minute found Malden all alone, courtesy of an assist from Douglas Stevens, to finish the scoring.
Preston Hayden had 10 saves in goal for the Trojans.
CHHS next plays on Tuesday in Enterprise against the Wildcats. Game time is at 7 p.m.
