Pike Liberal picks up second region win

The Pike Liberal Arts Baseball team picked up another regional victory on Monday with a 4-1 defeat of Macon-East in Cecil.
Layton Sanders earned the win on the mound for the Patriots. Sanders also led PLAS at the plate, driving in teammate Brandon Hooks twice with two doubles. Wes Johnson also had an RBI hit and Bill Hughes performed well, both offensively and defensively, for Pike Lib. Hughes added a center field home run for the Patriots at the plate.
PLAS improved to 9-4 and 2-1 in region play.
The Patriots return to action on Monday, April 1, at home against Fort Dale.

In other high school action, Charles Henderson picked up a 9-2 win over Gateway High School of Florida, at the Mosley High School Tournament, held in Panama City on Monday. No other information was available at press time. The Trojans improved to 6-10 on the year and faced Eastlake, Fla., and Pelham on Tuesday. CHHS plays host-Mosely on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
