Hargrove, Flowers win Troy Country Club Four-Ball tourney
Two Troy golfers, James Flowers and Buddy Hargrove, recently won the third annual Troy Country Club Senior Four-Ball Tournament.
Flowers and Hargrove shot six under the 36 hole low score, shooting 70-68 for 138 and winning the first flight by eight shots.
Mark Barnes and Larry Wilson won the championship "A" Division with 71-69 and a 140 total. Joe O’Heron and Ronnie Nicholson, both shooting 71 for 142, tied with James Oates and Allen Rogers for second, who shot 73-69.
In "B", Barney Burnett and Jimmy Lunsford won with a 73-70 and 143 total. There was a tie in B-Division as well, as William Davis shot a 72 and Rogers Davis a 75, (147), equalling Jerry Reeves and Donnie Warrick’s 74 and 73 performance, respectively.
In addition to Flowers and Hargrove winning the first flight, Arnold White (75) and Stuart Wells (71) combined for 146 and a second place finish. Johnny Stroud (73) and Jim Campbell (75) placed third (148).
Second flight winners were Phil Morgan (73) and Foy Lunsford (78) with a 151. Steve Parker (77) and Gene Ducote (77) followed with a 154. Leon Hilyek (77) and John Flora (79) were third with a 156.
Ann Morgan and Susan Reeves won the ladies scramble division, shooting a 78-81 as individuals to total 159.
