From Special Reports – Registration is underway for the 10th season of the Troy Amateur Baseball League.
"The purpose of this league is for players to improve their skills where they can move on to the next level," said league spokesperson James Henderson. "Many of our former players have excelled and moved on to the next level of play. Some are playing professional ball and some of our players from last year have signed contracts to play in the new Southeastern Pro Baseball League."
Henderson feels the TABL can help attract pro scouts to Troy.
"We feel we have good quality baseball played in our league," he said.
Players wishing to participate in the Troy Amateur Baseball League must register by May 31, 2002. For more information call Pam Nix of the Troy Parks and Recreation Department at 670-6050, Rat McWhorter at 566-1351 or Henderson at 566-0268.
