The Pike American Legion Post 145 team split a pair of games with Enterprise Post 78 on Tuesday night at Riddle-Pace Field.
Pike won the first game 8-6, but fell in the second in eight innings, 6-5.
Brandon Arnold was able to pick up the win for Post 145 in the opening game of the twin bill with Brandon Hooks earning the save. Hooks came in for Arnold in the fifth inning to hold Post 78 to only two more runs. Pike scored four runs to take the win.
The game was a see-saw affair with Pike taking a 2-1 lead on Hooks’ linedrive double in the latter half of the first. Post 78 reclaimed the lead with two runs in the second. Drew Kilpatrick and Wes Johnson put Post 145 on top in the third with back-to-back RBI doubles.
Enterprise would tie the game against Arnold in the fifth before Hooks entered the game.
A Pike 5-1 lead in the seventh evaporated as Enterprise forced an extra inning in the second game to earn the win. Post 145 is now 4-2 on the year.
