Dothan knocks Troy 13-year-olds out of tournament

From Special Reports – Troy was eliminated by Dothan in the Dixie Boys 13-year-old District Tourament, falling 17-7 on Tuesday night.
Dothan opened with a one-run lead in the first then scored eight runs in the second inning. Troy responded with six runs in the fourth, but Dothan had four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to put the game away.
Seth Copeland, Chad Jordan, Tobias Lee and Foster Styron combined to give up 17 runs on 12 hits, issued seven walks and struck out nine batters.
"We just couldn’t get any momentum. Dothan kept putting pressure on us and making big plays," said Troy head coach Sam Kitchens. "But I would like to thank all of the fans and players for their efforts and support throughout this tournament season."
Chase Avant, Quentine Thomas and Jordan each were 2-for-3 to lead Troy offensively. Mason Thompkins, Blake Sanders and Styron also had hits.
