Jadie B. Whiteside March
Jadie B. Whiteside March, 93, 801 81st South, Birmingham, died July 29, 2002 at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.
Services will be Aug. 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. at First Troy Seventh Day Adventist Church with the Pastor B.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in China Grove Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
She was born March 17, 1909, in Alabama to Preston and Ida Whiteside. She was a house sitter.
Survivors include: an adopted Christian daughter, Clementine Collins of Birmingham; two nieces, Levoide Wilson of Berrien Springs, Mich., and Maggie Stanton of Chicago, Ill.; one nephew, Thirkield Marbury; cousins, Martha Hill of Birmingham, Mary Barnett Harris of Birmingham and Rendon Marbury of Birmingham and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Floralbearers will be friends of the family.
Peggy Armstrong
Services for Peggy Armstrong, 67, of Daleville who died recently at her home will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. W.W. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lynne and Paul Roberts of Daleville and Stephanie and Kenneth Godwin of Daleville; sister and her husband, Mr. And Mrs. Foy Helms; brother, Kenneth Drinkard; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Christine Poole and Elizabeth Rushing.
Dorothy E. Anderson
Services for Dorothy E. Anderson, 79, of Troy who died Monday, July 29, 2002, will be announced later by Mclaughlin Mortuary of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Anderson was born October 1, 1922, in Duquoin, Ill. Her parents were Leroy R. Eaton and Pearle Ruby Trover Eaton.
She was a civil service employee and a long time resident of Shalimar, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Anderson.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Joyce A. and John Lee of Troy; three grandchildren, Scott Lee of Shalimar Fl, Daniel Lee of Atlanta Ga., and Linda Dilullo of Austin, Texas.; five great granhchildren and two nieces, Sandra Sanders of Destin, Fla. and Toni of Ill.
James Larry Ellis
Our cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, pastor, and friend, James Larry Ellis, age 57, has gone to his great reward in heaven. He leaves behind his dear wife Betty; children: Mark (Sandy) Ellis; Scarlett (Scott) Sullivan; eight beloved grandchildren; Nicholas, Zachary, Matthew, Mary Elizabeth, Dayne, Elias, Saige, Nolan, parents: J.W. & Genie Mae Ellis; sister, Karen Carter; the flock at White Rock Baptist Church; and a multitude of friends. He will be missed for all the season that we remain here, but we see him again in the morning. Funeral services for Mr. James Larry Ellis will be Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at 2:00 P.M. from Springfield Baptist Church in Brundidge with Rev. Chuck Blair officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Burial will follow in the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Ellis will lie in state at the church l hr. Prior to the service.
