William Paul Miller
William Paul Miller, 68, 15564 Hwy. 167 N., New Brockton, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Flowers Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 6, 2002, from the Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Taylor and the Rev. Hollis Bradley officiating. Burial followed in Green Hill Cemetery in Troy with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
He was a member of El-Bethel Assembly of God Church. His parents, William Henry and Emmie Mobley Miller, two brothers, Royce and Horace Miller, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Miller of New Brockton; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Ken Odom of Dothan; two granddaughters, Hannah and Laura Odom, both of Dothan; four brothers, the Rev. Robert Miller (Charlotte) of Enterprise, Curtis Miller (Virginia), Johnny Miller (Voncille) all of Phoenix City, Arnold Miller (Pat) of Fort Mitchell; five sisters Aileen Cain (Wilbur), Diane McLean (Connie) all of Enterprise, Jean Gulley (Walt) fo Troy, Jewell Walden (Norris) of Daleville, Merle Jones of Salem; a father-in-law, Marvin Pugh (Queen L.) of Troy, a mother-in-law, Mary A. Tyler of Montgomery and several nieces and nephews.
Jadie B. Whiteside Marsh
Jadie B. Whiteside Marsh, 93, 801 81st South, Birmingham, died July 29, 2002 at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.
Funeral services were held Aug. 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. at First Troy Seventh Day Adventist Church with the Pastor B.L. Smith officiating. Burial followed in China Grove Cemetery.
She was born March 17, 1909, in Alabama and was a house sitter.
She is survived by an adopted Christian daughter, Clementine Collins of Birmingham; two neices, Levodie Wilson of Berrien Springs, Mich., and Maggie Stanton of Chicago, Ill.; one nephew Thirkield Marbury; cousins, Martha Hill of Birmingham, Mary Barnett Harris of Birmingham and Rendon Marbury of Birmingham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Floral bearers will be friends of the family.
Sara I. McLeod
Sara I. McLeod, 84, 200 Bruce St. Apt 37, Troy, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home is Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby McLeod, two daughters, Margaret Wooten and Sue Turner, two grandchildren, Danny Rushing and Gene Turner, and by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Rushing of Troy; a son, Max McLeod of Troy; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Bobbie Watkins of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
