The Lady Trojans of Charles Henderson High School are 2-2, but going into their first area game of the season, head coach Dyneshia Jones feels they are ready to really start playing her style of basketball.

The Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleaders from Charles Henderson will compete in the 11th Annual State Cheer & Dance Championships this weekend in Birmingham. This is the varsity’s second year to participate in the competition, but the junior varsity will be making their debut.

CHHS gets back on track
with a couple of weekend wins
The Charles Henderson Trojans opened up the game with a 17-0 run in the first period of last night’s game against Andalusia and ended the game with a 17 point victory over the visiting Bulldogs, 66-49.

Rivalry game could’ve
ended a lot differently
Close contests and competitive athletes playing their hearts out make for a strong rivalry any time you put the two factors together. Being that the two schools in question are only a stone’s throw away from each other doesn’t hinder the process either I suppose, and deep down I truly believe that when two teams are that competitive and excited about playing one another great things more often than not come from it. The bad and the ugly seem to find their way through the cracks as well however.

When you lose two games in a row it’s usually pretty painful. When you lose those two games by a total of two points, it’s gut-wrenching.

The Carver Lady Wolverines showed no mercy in their 69-23 drilling of the Lanier Lady Poets in game one of the sixth annual Charles Henderson High School Christmas Classic Monday.
Troy State snaps losing skid with
88-74 victory over TSA
Troy State (5-4) used a strong second-half surge to claim an 88-74 win over visiting Texas-San Antonio (3-6) in Trojan Arena. The Trojans outscored their guests 57-33 in the second frame.

revenge against Carver on Tuesday
The Charles Henderson Trojans got a little revenge on the Carver Wolverines Tuesday afternoon as the two teams met for the second time in three games.
Carver, LHS boys advances to finals
In the early game on Tuesday, the winner of the second round matchup between the Calhoun Lady Tigers and the Lady Wolverines of Carver wouldn’t get much rest because the championship was played later that night.
