Good Morning, Pike County and welcome to another week of opportunity and success.
Last week was highlighted by the success of two Troy teams on diamond.
The Troy Dixie Youth Nationals headed off to play in their state championship tournament, and have won their first two matchups.
The Dixie Belles softball team captured their state championship title before a home crowd, and will head off to Texas in search of a World Series win.
Both teams deserve well wishes in their endeavors.
Good luck is extended to 10 young ladies who are competing for the title Pike County Junior Miss. The program will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theater at Troy State University, but these 10 girls have been working hard for several weeks preparing for the presentation.
Our hats are off to the Pike County Forestry Planning Committee and the Pike County 4-H Council for hosting some 60 youngsters at the 4-H Natural Resources Day Camp Tuesday at Clay Hill Farms.
Children in Pike County were further protected Saturday when the Woodmen of the World Lodge 420 offered child identification kits at Wal-Mart. This activity is indicative of the caring attitude we in Pike County exude.
