Louise Elizabeth Henderson Johnson
Services for Louise Elizabeth Henderson Johnson 86, of Troy who died Sunday, September 12, 2004 at her home will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Greg Aman officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Henderson under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Hamil Johnson; son, Tommy Johnson; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Folmar and a brother, Bert Henderson.
Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Linda and Nolan Herring, Kathryn and Charlie Nonnenmann, Betty and Buddy Hobbs and Delores and Herman Motes all of Troy; son and his wife, Joe and Anne Johnson of Troy; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Vickie Diane Summerville
Ms. Vickie Diane Summerville, 48, died September 4, 2004, while hospitalized at Baptist South MICU unit in Montgomery.
She was born September 2, 1956, in Troy. She was baptized at Greater Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church. She was active in the church as a YPDer during your younger years; then, as a member of the Usher Board and Lottie B. McLeod Stewardess Board.
She attended Academy Street High School and graduated from Charles Henderson High School in 1974. She also attended Alabama State University.
She was a member of Silver Star Chapter 12, Order of Eastern Star in Troy.
Survivors include her son, Jerald Summerville of Syracuse, N.Y.; her mother, Mittie J. Allen of Troy; a sister, Lottie Summerville of Troy; a brother and sister-in-law, Claude E. Summerville Jr. and Cynthia Summerville of Leona, Texas; a niece, Zakaiyah Summerville of Leona, Texas; a nephew, Saabir Summerville of Leona Texas; uncles Albet McLeod and Charles McLeod of Newark, N.J.; uncle and aunt Hubert and Shirley McLeod of South Carolina; uncle and aunt Johnnie and Patricia McLeod of Detroit; uncle and aunt Robert McLeod and Catherine McLeod of Newark, N.J.; and a host of other relatives, friends and associates.
Kassander Cherelle Gillis
Kassander Cherelle Gillis, affectionately known as &uot;San,&uot; a native of Creola, died on September 10, 2004, in Troy.
There will be a two-hour lie-in-state from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at the Little Rock Baptist Church of Axis on Thursday, September 16, 2004, with Rev. Dennis L. Bell Sr., pastor, and the Rev. Henry L. Gillis Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Vaughn Cemetery in McIntosh. Funeral arrangements by Reese Funeral Home, 925 Bessemer Ave., in Prichard.
Born on March 9, 1986, she was a Class of 2004 graduate of Satsuma High School. Kassander was a freshman attending Troy University. She was united with the James Chapel Baptist Church in St. Stephens. There, she faithfully served under the pastoral of her father, Rev. Henry L. Gillis Sr., until her death.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Bean, of Pike County. She is survived by her parents, Rev. Henry L. Gillis and minister Barbara A. Gillis of Creola; siblings Jimmy Charles Bean of Kansas City, Mo.; Kevin Gillis, Gary Gillis, Erica Gillis Grant, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; LaToya L. Gillis of Montgomery; Henry Gillis Jr., and Melinda Gillis, both of Creola; grandmothers, Ms. Hester Hooten Gillis of Troy; and Ms. Minnie L. Reed of Satsuma. Six uncles, nine aunts, three nieces, four nephews, other relatives, a devoted church family, and her dearest friend, Myrenda Howze, of Creola.
