Chalker Wayne Branton

Graveside services for Chalker Wayne Branton, 69, of Spring Hill, who died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan will be at 10 a.m. today at Antioch Church of Christ on Shellhorn Road with the Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Full military rites will be provided by Charlie's Angels.

Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Branton was born on Oct. 28, 1937, in Dothan to Mike Branton and Ruby Anderson Branton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Shirley Jean Branton, who died in 1995.

He is survived by his children, Phillip Dwayne Branton of Dothan; Bruce Red Branton of Spring Hill; Kathy Darlene Johnson of Daleville; James Edward Tillery of Troy; and Pennie Joyce Tillery of Dothan; a sister, Ann Tice of Ashford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Minor, Todd Stephens, Eddie Tillery, Johnny Stephens, James Steven Adams Jr. and David Earl Stephens.

Marcus Edward Champlin

Marcus Edward Champlin, 87, of Grady, died at his home Monday, July 2, 2007.

Visitation will be at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Thursday, July 5, 2007,

from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his children, Richard A. Champlin and Anna M. Brockway; grandchildren, Maggie Champlin, Robyn Champlin and Sundee Sydoriak; brother, Louis (Joyce) Champlin; sisters, Dorothy Hawkins, Elka Harvey and Betty Champlin; sister-in-law, Marie Champlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the South Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department, Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, or the United Methodist Children’s Home in Selma.
