Pike County, it’s that time again.

The Pike County Relay for Life will kick-off its fight against cancer at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church activities building.

Relay Chair Janet Baker said this year’s kick-off will be much like the Relay event, but on a much smaller scale.

“We’re going to have a mini-Relay this year, with a tent and food, and we’ll play games,” Baker said.

Baker said anyone who has a team or thinks they may want to participate in Relay for Life this year, is invited to attend.

“If anybody even thinks they might want to do a team, please come out,” Baker said.

The relay theme this year is “A Rainbow of Hope,” based on the different colors of cancer.

Baker said they have invited 34 teams to attend the event tomorrow night, and teams will pick up fund-raising packets at the event.

The actual Relay for Life event will be held in the spring.
