A Troy resident is without a home as a result of a late night fire on Tuesday.
George Brown, a resident of High Point Circle, said his wife saw flames coming from the attic of Mary McLeod’s home about 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
No one was injured in the fire.
“When we arrived (at 104 High Point Circle the home) was fully engulfed and the fire had already broke through,” said Troy Fire Department Chief Thomas Outlaw said.
According to Outlaw, the fire department worked about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
Troy Fire Department is still investigating the actual cause of the fire.
The investigation may take time, Outlaw said, because the home was destroyed.
“At 6:30 this morning there was more fire,” Brown said.
“I called the fire department and they came back out and put the fire out again.”
Outlaw confirmed that firefighters had to put out a hot spot early Wednesday.
