Pike Liberal’s golf team defends Troy
The Pike Liberal Arts golf team won its home tournament Tuesday.
They had a team score of 302, which was four points better than the second place Lee-Scott Warriors.
Grant Gilbert had the low round with a 73. Ben McKeller shot a 74, Jackson Byars shot a 76, Audie Stell shot a 79, Will Sanford shot an 86 and Chandler Hudson shot a 91.
Pike County JV baseball grabs two
The Pike County JV baseball team (4-1) swiped two games from Abbeville Wednesday.
PCHS won the first game 13-0 and the second 11-1.
Zack Ming got the win on the mound in the first game and Ethan Shirah picked up the win in the second game.
Ming scored five runs in the doubleheader. Austin Rushing scored three runs. Blake Maulden combined for three runs. T.J. Sikes had three runs as well. Josh Cooper had two runs. Michael Smith had two runs and Kyle Lewis, Azerial Larkin, Alvin Rogers and Mark Burgos each scored one run.
