A Muscle Shoals man has been charged with driving without insurance after he allegedly drove his truck through the fence at Movie Gallery Stadium Saturday night.

Damon Stewart Gremillion was issued the citation after he drove his 1996 Ford Explorer off George Wallace Drive, through the stadium brick columns, striking a metal fence and ultimately stopping after he hit a tree, said Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

Scarbrough said it is still unknown whether Gremillion was under the influence of any substance since blood tests have not been received yet.

Troy University’s Dean of Student Services Herb Reeves said the school will seek restitution from Gremillion.

“Certainly we’re going to seek restitution for it through insurance or through him,” Gremillion said. “We do have damage.”

But, Reeves said he is unsure of how much damage was incured at this time.

“We’re assessing it today, and I’m sure we’ll have a damage figure tomorrow,” Reeves said.
