Holli Keaton has been named news editor of The Messenger.

Keaton, a 2008 graduate of Troy University, began working part-time with The Messenger in November 2007 as a reporter and joined the staff full-time in May 2008.

She has covered city and county government, education, courts, law enforcement and general assignments during her tenure.

“Holli has been an enthusiastic reporter, eager to learn about the community and report the news with our readers. She brings a commitment to fair coverage, along with a genuine concern for the well-being of the readers in Pike County to her new responsibilities,” said Stacy Graning, publisher of Troy Publications Inc.

Keaton, who is from Fairhope, is a member of the Pike County Young Professionals Organization and the Exchange Club of Troy. She is active in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where she serves as a youth minister and on the parish council. She was named “Woman of the Year” while at Troy University
