Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Troy will sponsor its annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
“Everyone is invited to participate in some way,” said Jeanette Baker, TH&R activities director. “This is a good opportunity for those who would like to have booths with items for sale and it’s also a great place to do some early Christmas shopping and to get delicious baked items for the holidays.”
Booth rental is $10 for those who furnish their own tables and $20 for booths with tables. Booths will be located inside the facility and outside. The inside booths are limited and will be reserved on a first-come basis.
To reserve a booth, call Jeanette Baker at 566-0880.
Baker said this is also the time of year for the Adopt-a-Resident for the Holidays program.
“Troy Health and Rehab will have gifts for each of the residents but they enjoy getting other gifts, too,” she said. “The Adopt-a-Resident program is an opportunity for members of the community to share Christmas with our residents by purchasing gift items for them and also by paying them a visit. The Christmas holidays are a special time for all of us and our residents really enjoy having visitors and attending the special programs that are planned for them.”
Adopting a resident may be done by simply calling Baker at 566-0880.
“Those who call may already have a resident in mind and others just asked up to pair them with a resident,” Baker said. “Often, church groups and civic organizations will adopt more than one resident. There are some residents whose families don’t live in the area and having visitors is especially meaningful to them at this time of year. All of our residents enjoy having company.”
