Children in the area will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and have breakfast in the process this weekend.
The Troy Junior Women’s League will sponsor a Breakfast with Santa and Christmas Carnival.
This is the 16th year the event has been held and will be held at Park Memorial United Methodist Church on Highway 87.
According to Brooke Terry, of the Women’s League, the menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, orange juice and milk.
“We will also have an area set up for pictures with Santa Claus,” Terry said.
The carnival will be full of fun for the whole family.
Terry said the carnival will consist of a “goody walk,” bounce house and slide, reindeer food station, face painting and lots of other games.
Children will also have an opportunity to win a savings bond from a local bank by coloring a page.
Terry said this is the organization’s primary fundraiser.
“We will also have a cake auction next Friday, Dec. 18, starting at 6 a.m. on WTBF radio,” Terry said.
According to Terry, the organization sponsors a room at the Child Advocacy Center, gives a cash scholarship to a local senior each year and donates to many other organizations such as Relay for Life, Miracle Field and American Heart Association.
“Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door, but if they mention seeing this article in the Troy Messenger, they can get the tickets for $5 at the door,” Terry said.
