Alleged Stop &Go robber seized

Troy Police have arrested a Banks man charged with robbing a local gas station with a screwdriver Sunday night.
Ritchie Nolan Thorne, 47, was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly robbing the Stop & Go gas station on South Brundidge Street around 8 p.m. Sunday, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage.
Thorne is accused of entering the gas station Sunday, pulling a screwdriver out and demanding the clerk open the register. He left with around $400 in cash taken from the store in a red vehicle.
The vehicle’s driver remains unknown and was last seen headed toward University Avenue in the direction of Troy University’s campus.
Thorne was taken into custody at the Troy Police Department and was later transported to the Pike County Jail. He is charged with robbery first degree and has a bond set at $100,000 in connection with the incident.
