Three Notch Street railroad closed Monday

Railroad crossings around Troy have undergone repairs this week, but perhaps the most highly traveled intersection of them all will be closed Monday.
The crossing on South Three Notch will close from 5 a.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Residents are advised by Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage to be cautious, as traffic in these areas will be more congested.
The Alabama Department of Transportation will assist in redirecting traffic for the day, as it is a state road.
“We probably will just close the crossing itself because of the businesses we have right there,” said Mike Griffin, ALDOT division engineer. “Traffic will be redirected over the other streets.”
Griffin said the closings will be apparent for travelers, so they will not be stuck near the railroad with no where to turn around.
“It will be obvious it will be closed before anybody gets to it,” Griffin said. “We’ve done this many times over the years.”
