The final day to register to vote in the June 1 primary election is May 21 and the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is the following week on May 27.
“Absentee applications are available at the absentee election manager’s office,” said Probate Judge Wes Allen.
“Residents should contact Mrs. Audrey Milton at the courthouse for requirements.”
Allen said he wanted to remind residents that absentee ballots can be completed by any qualified elector through mail or in person.
“To be issued an absentee ballot in primary elections, voters must choose, on the application, between a republican ballot, democrat ballot or constitutional amendment ballot,” Allen said.
Completed absentee applications must provide the Alabama residence where the voter is registered to vote and be returned to the absentee election manager by the voter in person or U.S. Mail.
