The Heart of Dixie Trail began its third annual June Horse Celebration this week, and there were plenty of festivities for people to enjoy at the event.
“We have four days of guided riding, which we started on Wednesday,” said owner and operator Richard Dunn. We had some games out in the arena Wednesday night, and we played bingo Thursday. Then, tonight, we’re going to have our trail horse competition, followed by our horseshoe tournaments, volleyball tournaments and fishing tournaments tomorrow. We’ll finish up Sunday morning with a church service and our last ride.”
The trail horse competition set for Friday had 35 competitors signed up, 29 in the adult division and 6 in the 16 and under division.
“This is just a fun game for people to check their horses out, and see where they are as trail horses.”
The results of the competition were not available as of press time.
