A Brundidge man faces drug charges, after local law enforcement discovered methamphetamine and marijuana in his home Monday afternoon.
Timothy Stan Ellis, of County Road 1633 in Brundidge, was arrested Monday on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Pike County Sheriff’s Investigator Bob Williamson.
Williamson said the drugs and drug related items were discovered while the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department was attempting to serve a probation violation notice on Robert Corey Lee.
He said Lee was visiting Ellis at the time, and when Coffee County officials arrived on scene, Lee fled into the woods. Williamson said the department then found items used to manufacture methamphetamine and called the Pike County Sheriff’s Department to the scene.
“We got permission from Ellis to search his home,” Williamson said, which is where they found the drugs, drug paraphernalia and about 30 firearms.
One of the firearms was found stolen and Williamson said there are potentially others that may be. Williamson said he is unsure the exact value of drugs found in Ellis’ home, but he estimated between $300 and $500 worth.
Ellis was taken to the Pike County Jail where he was released on bond early Tuesday morning. His bond amounts totaled $9,500.
Assisting in the arrest with the Pike and Coffee County Sheriff’s Departments were the Troy Police Department and members of the 12th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.
