The sports recreation tournament season is here and things will be kicking off with a bang in Troy on Saturday.

While all the baseball teams will be playing in different tournaments in either Enterprise or Luverne, the softball teams will be in action in Troy, playing in several different locations across town.

In all, there will be 40 different teams, including the four Troy teams, from four different leagues, the Dixie Darlings, Dixie Angels, the Dixie Belles and the Dixie Ponytails playing 76 games in one day.

All the tournaments will be warm-up tournaments leading into next weekend’s action.

Each league will begin the day with pool play to determine the seeding for the tournaments that follow. Most of the games will be taking place at the Sportsplex, however, the Dixie Belles that will begin their pool play at Troy University softball field and the Pike Liberal Arts softball field.

Each one of the leagues will have its first games start at 8:30 a.m.

The Troy Dixie Belles will open up against Enterprise at Troy University, while the Troy Dixie Darlings will play Zion Chapel on Field one at the Sportsplex.

The Troy Dixie Ponytails team will take on Montgomery Gray on Field eight and the Troy Dixie Angels team will take on Zion Chapel on Field six.
