With recreation team tournament season less than a week away, many teams took to the field on Saturday for warm up games.
One of those teams was the Troy Farm league American Tournament team.
The team split its two games on the day, falling to Enterprise 9-1 in game one however, bounced back to defeat Crenshaw County 11-7 in game two.
“We had a pretty good day,” head coach Brett Stallworth said Saturday evening.
“I thought the team hit exceptionally well all day. The kids seemed a little nervous in game one but they did a great job of recovering in game two.”
Stallworth said he was happy to see his team swing the bats better in the second game.
“We had a great week of hitting in practice leading up to [Saturday] and I figured the bats would come around, which they did.
“I thought everyone played great. Parker Sessions, Walker Stallworth, Ben Reeves, Daryl Lee and Ryan Ledford all had great days. We had a very solid infield through both games,” the coach added. “I think we will be ready for the tournament next weekend.”
