Mrs. Carol Scarbrough of Troy died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at her residence. She was 63 years old. Memorial services for Carol Scarbrough will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Minister Sharon Kirkland and Rev. Herbert Whatley officiating. A private burial will be at a later date with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends from 5-6 P.M. Friday prior to the service at the Skeen Chapel. Carol Scarbrough was born December 23, 1946 in Pike County, AL. She was the daughter of the late Lucious Martin and Juanita Bassett Martin. Mrs. Scarbrough was a retired seamstress in the apparel industry. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Fenecia and Mike Thrash, Troy; Teresa Scarbrough, Troy; Mellisa and David Cooper, Alexandria, VA; 7 grandchildren and spouses: Alisha (Joey) Connell, Nichole (Jarak) Williamson, Josh Motes, Courtney Motes, Shannon Falls, Justin (Rosanna) Thrash and Robby (Melanie) Thrash; 3 great-grandchildren; Payton Linzey, Korbin Adams, and Trey Connell; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Laura (Mark) Odell and Ruth (Herbert) Whatley; brother-in-law: Jerry Mobley; special nephew and family; Johnny Ham, Jennifer and Jenna Ham, a special person who she loved like her own son, Bubba Sewel, a very special family friend, Carolyn Linzey, several nieces, nephews and other family members. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Carol Scarbrough will be held at 6:30 Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her residence, 215 Pocosin Road, Troy. Family and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Mrs. Scarbrough’s life. In lieu of flowers the memorials may be made to Hospice Advantage, 413 S. Brundidge St., Troy, AL. 38081
