While two Troy teams battled in the first round of the Farm District tournament, there were six other teams in action as well.
In the first game of the day in the farm district tournament, Crenshaw County defeated New Brockton 10-0.
After holding New Brockton scoreless in the top of the first, Crenshaw jumped out in front in the bottom of the first when Jordyn Baguets and Austin Roper crossed the plate to give Crenshaw the 2-0 lead.
Crenshaw County added three more in the second on runs from Hunter Simmons, Lucas Kilcrease and Chancelor Turner.
Crenshaw added its final runs in the third inning with five big runs from Roper, DJ Thomas, Jackson Kennedy, Kilcrease and Turner.
Roper, Kilcrease and Turner led the way for Crenshaw with two runs scored each.
In game two of the farm district tournament, it was a battle of cross-town rivals, as Enterprise National battled Enterprise American.
In the end, the Nationals took it by a score of 14-6.
The Nationals jumped out in front in the top of the first on runs from Jack Williams and Lane Danford.
Enterprise American rallied back for two in the bottom of the second to tie the game on runs from Manny Sanders and Cameron Foley.
The Nationals broke the game wide open in the fourth inning, however, scoring six big runs when Hilton Lunsford, Dallas Howell, Cole Hooper, Walter Mathis, Laison Lentz and Peyton Easterling all crossed the plate.
The Americans were able to battle back for two runs in the fifth when Zach Martin and Tyler Rathburn crossed the plate, but the Nationals fired right back.
Six more runs crossed the plate for the Nationals in the sixth, when Hooper, Mathis, Lentz, Easterling, Nicholas Edgar and Bradley Watson scored.
The game’s final scoring came in the bottom of the sixth when Sanders and Brady Wood scored for the Americans to provide the final tally of 14-6.
Hooper, Lentz, Mathis and Easterling led the Nationals with two runs scored each, while Sanders led Enterprise American with two runs of his own.
In the final game of the day, Eufaula National crushed Greenville 15-1.
Greenville’s only run came in the second, when Dawson Sarblah scored to make it 2-1, Eufaula.
The Nationals scored two in the second, four in the third, seven in the third and two in the fifth.
Hunter Jay, Birch Cochran, Trevor Biggs and Travion Johnson all scored two runs each for Eufaula, while Hunter Cochran, Jordan Brown, Jayvion Gullford, Clayton Gilmore, Tyler Killingsworth, Andrew Hartsfield and Ethan Black all scored a run.
In today’s action, Enterprise National will take on Eufaula American, who had a first-round bye, in a winner’s bracket game at 6 p.m., while Troy National will battle Eufaula National at 7: 30 p.m.
In the loser’s bracket, New Brockton will take on Enterprise American in an elimination game at 6 p.m., while Troy American will play Greenville for the right to stay alive at 7:30 p.m.
Crenshaw County has a bye to a winner’s bracket game Monday.
