Natha Mae Allen was born March 10, 1936 in Pike County to the late Charlie W. Allen and the late Lula Thomas Allen. Natha was the seventh child born to this union. Natha was one of sixteen brothers and sisters, in which thirteen preceded her in death: Lodale Oliver, Jannie Merritt, Homer Allen, Jessie Allen, Willie Allen, James Allen, John Allen, Daniel Allen, Lillie Williams, Darsie Gilmore, Charles Allen, Hattie Dockery, and Nathaniel Allen.
Natha was educated in the Pike County School System.
At an early age Natha joined the Macedonia CME church where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.
On July 25, 2010 Natha was obedient to her Lord and Master; she answered the call that every soul must answer. She quietly and gently closed her eyes and said good-bye. Good-bye to pain, good-bye to worry, and hello to peace, joy and reward.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four loving and devoted children, Joyce Martin (Willie) White, Birmingham, AL; Robert (Lisa) Martin, Troy, AL; Lawrence Martin, Goshen, AL; Mary L. Martin Woodson, Luverne, AL; two sisters, Sarah (Jessie) Douglas, Montgomery, AL; Ethel Jerry, Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Doris Allen, Chicago, IL; and Mattie Allen, Troy, AL; ten grandchildren, Shamella McGhee, Carmella McGhee, Jasmine Martin, Brittany Martin, Ranisha Martin, Christopher Martin, Iran White, Damarco Martin, Kyeta Woodson, Damion Martin; two great grandchildren, Da’Shanae Pennington, La’Derion Jackson; two special adopted children, Kenuwyn Dixon and KaLaiya Dixon; and a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
