Offensive Player of the Week: Marcus Jackson

Coming into the first game of the season, Goshen senior running back Marcus Jackson was hoping the success he had last year would carry over into the new season.
Jackson, and the Goshen faithful, would find out that answer pretty early on against G.W. Long.
On the teams second snap of its second possession, Jackson found the hole and dashed 81-yards to the back of the endzone, igniting the beginnings of a big 45-14 win for the Eagles.
“It felt great to be on the field and playing someone other than my teammates,” the running back said. “It felt great to be starting the new season.”
Jackson would only carry the ball eight times, but with those carries, he rushed for 221 yards, almost half of the entire Eagle offense, and added two touchdowns as well.
While he said he was happy with how he played, he noted that his performance would not have been possible if not for his teammates.
“I couldn’t have done anything without my offensive line blocking for me,” Jackson said.
“They made my job really easy. All I had to do was run – they did a heck of a job for me.”
