Troy residents will see another road closure next week when a portion of Park Street is closed.

Park Street will be closed from midnight September 10 until midnight September 12 while a new sewer line is installed as part of the city’s ongoing sewer rehabilitation project.

The closure will affect the part of Park Street from the intersection at Madison Street to the intersection of Park and Elm Streets.

The closure is not for any repair, and has been scheduled for some time.

“It’s just part of that ongoing project that the city has ongoing,” said Mike Davis, division manger for Imani Environmental Group, the organization that will be overseeing the project on behalf of the City of Troy.

IEG worked on George Wallace Drive previously during the closure of that road, but that closure lasted roughly three weeks.

However, Smith said he does not anticipate Park Street being closed any more than the planned two days.

“I think we’ll be able to get it done in two days,” Smith said. “Hopefully, it won’t be any longer than two days. That’s the plan, anyway.”
