For the firs time all season, the Goshen Eagles will be playing a volleyball match on its home court.
The Eagles are coming off a 1-2 finished in the Pea River Valley Tournament this past weekend, as it dropped to matches against Elba and Zion Chapel, while defeating Ariton for a second time this season.
Today, GHS will look to make it three wins over the Purple Cats this season as Ariton comes to town.
But even though the team has had success against the opposition, head coach Dee Hughes believes her team needs to be ready for a good match.
“I told the girls that we have seen them twice, we can’t get to confidant.
“There have been times this season where we came into a match with out focus not where it should be and we played flat,” the coach said.
“We have to be ready to go.”
One element the coach believes will help her team get ready is the knowledge of playing in front of the home crowd.
“There is always a lot of excitement (playing at home),” Hughes said.
“Ariton is a good team, but they have had trouble with our serves the past couple of times we played them and hopefully that will be the case again (today),” she added.
Three matches will take place at Goshen, as the junior high, junior varsity and varsity teams will all be in action.
The first match will begin at 4 p.m.
