The eighth annual Tennis Classic of Troy released its qualifying list Thursday afternoon, with matches set to begin on Oct. 10 and run through Oct. 17.
The tournament will feature 32 tennis players, 22 of which are ranked in the Top 200 by the International Tennis Federation.
“This is always an exciting time of year,” Troy head tennis coach Eric Hayes said.
“There are always a lot of talented players that participate in the tournament and this year is no different.
“This is a great opportunity for young players to come in and really develop their games, plus its a great opportunity for the community to see some really good tennis,” he added.
The highest ranked player is Edina Gallovits, who is currently ranked No. 80.
The Romania-born player has competed in each of the four major championships, U.S. Open, Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon, each of the past two seasons.
Another player competing knows this area of the world a little bit better.

Hampton, who graduated from Auburn High School, won the USTA Girls’ 18s double title twice.
The tournament will take place at the Jimmy C. Lunsford Tennis Complex.
