Troy Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect sought in the abduction and attack of a Troy University student earlier this week.
The sketch provides the first physical look at the man who abducted a 20-year-old woman from her home on Smith Street in Troy some time after 9:30 p.m. Monday. According to police reports, her car was stolen in the process and the victim was brutally beaten and stabbed before being left on a remote section of County Road 7735 in the Needmore area. The victim then walked nearly a quarter of a mile to a nearby residence, where a 911 call was made about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Police have said the suspect appeared to have left the scene on foot after the victim’s car ran out of gas.
Along with the sketch, police released a more detailed physical description of the suspect. He is described as an African-American male, 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He is believed to be in his mid 30s and was described as scruffy, with light facial hair; having a flat nose; possibly having a crease in his forehead; and having a heavy odor and bloodshot eyes. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a toboggan.
The sketch was compiled after an artist with the Hoover Police Department met with victim.
Police continue to urge anyone with information about the suspect or who may have seen someone fitting the description of the suspect in the Needmore Road area on Monday to call 334-566-0500; the Secret Witness Line at 334-566-5555; or the Pike County Sheriff’s Department at 334-566-4347. The Pike County Sheriff’s Department also is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
