Tickets for the spring production of “Come Home, It’s Suppertime” at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge will go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Rue’s Antiques in Brundidge or by calling 334-735-3125 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
Play dates are April 5, 7, 8 and 9 and 12, 14, 15 and 16.
Rue Botts, ticket chair, said ticket prices will remain at $25 and include the pre-show music, a full country supper and the two-act play.
“We want to continue to offer community theater at an affordable price because the mission of the Brundidge Historical Society is to preserve and promote the physical and cultural heritage of the rural South through the arts,” Botts said. “The spring season is the beginning of our 10th year and more than 18,000 people have attended our performances. We are proud and humbled that people continue to enjoy what we do.”
Wes Tomlin of Ozark will return as director and said that most of the cast will return from the fall production.
“We do have a few parts that need to be filled so we will hold auditions at 6:30 p.m. Monday night at the We Piddle Around Theater,” Tomlin said. “We need a young girl, a teenage girl, a female blues-style singer and an older man to play the role of Uncle Ovie, a cantankerous older man. We also need several singers for the choir.”
Tomlin said anyone who is interested in auditioning for any of the parts is encouraged to come Monday night.
“We are looking forward to being together again to bring the stories of the people of the rural South who ‘made do’ during the Great Depression and to another great season of ‘Come Home, It’s Suppertime.”
