Troy police are investigating an alleged criminal surveillance incident at a local restaurant.
According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage, a restaurant patron told police she found a cell phone in the women’s restroom at the restaurant at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 20. She reported the incident to police the next day – Thursday, April 21 – at approximately 1:30 p.m., when she turned over the cell phone.
The restaurant was identified on the police report as being at 106 Troy Plaza Loop, which is the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant.
The cell phone is being forensically analyzed to determine what is on the phone and who the possible owner is, said Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.
“The phone is being analyzed and until that is completed we just don’t know what types of charges could be involved,” he said.
As of Wednesday evening, no arrests had been made in the case.
“We’re not going to disclose specific information about the incident so it will not jeopardize the investigation,” Scarbrough said.
