Troy University authorities are seeking information on the whereabouts of T-Roy, the Trojan mascot with “killer abs,” as one “missing” poster reads.
“University police are investigating the possible theft of the T-Roy costume,” Tom Davis said, Director of University Relations.
Davis said the costume was reported missing from an off-campus residence on Tuesday.
“It’s normally kept in an on-campus locker room, but the costume was taken to a private residence,” Davis said. “The young man who was playing T-Roy for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics games took the costume home, because he didn’t have a way to get to the locker room to put it up.”
Davis said the student reported the costume stolen on Tuesday.
“The costume is valued at $5,500 and anyone with information concerning the case is encouraged to call the university police department,” Davis said.
The Troy University police department can be reached at (334) 670-3215, or concerned Trojans can call the secret witness line at (334) 670-5814 to leave anonymous tips.
Troy University authorities said the investigation is on going.
T-Roy was last seen at a baseball game and is described as a 125-year-old male, weighing roughly 250 pounds, standing approximately 6 feet 8 inches tall, with black eyes, a “T” on his chest, “killer abs and very defined muscles.”
Concerned Trojans are also encouraged to visit the Troy University facebook fan page with any information that could lead to the T-Roy’s whereabouts.
