An arrest was made in the lower level of the Troy Police Department parking lot Tuesday, where it was reported that Quentin Montez Richardson, 27 of Troy, threw three cans of beer at a 3-year-old child striking the child at least once in the forehead.
Benny Scarbrough, public information officer for the TPD, said a fellow officer had witnessed the incident as it occurred.
“The officer reported that one beer can struck the 3-year-old in the head and another hit the top of a car, which sprayed beer all over the driver,” Scarbrough said.
The 3-year-old victim received swelling and bruising and was taken to a local care facility for treatment.
“After the incident occurred, Richardson took off running down Walnut Street. He was apprehended at the 100 block of Henderson Street, and he had in his constructive possession what appeared to be a small bag of green-plant material, which tested positive for marijuana,” Scarbrough said.
Richardson was charged with domestic violence second and third degree, as well as with possession of marijuana second degree and has been transferred to the county jail.
Richardson’s bond was unknown at the time of this report.
