It seems like there are two kinds of people in the world: those who read the footnotes and those who pass them by.

Those notated gems often seem like unnecessary reading when you’re young: something else to distract you. Somewhere along the way, though, you might have noticed that those footnotes offer something more: nuances and insight, a little extra to help you understand or ponder what you’re reading.

Life’s like that, as well. We focus intently on the task at hand and sometimes we overlook the footnotes – those little moments  or insights that are all around us, whether frivolous or practical, funny or poignant, irreverent or thoughtful. Sometimes we gloss over them; but sometimes, those moments resonate deep within and add perspective to our everyday lives.
