Shelia Jackson and Friends Concert

I covered the 2011 Shelia Jackson and Friends Holiday Concert tonight. The concert is always a joy to cover. The signing, of course, is great. The lighting is as good as stage lighting can be as it is hosted in the Troy University Claudia Crosby Theater.
The above photo was taken before the concert. Sally Jordan was on stage playing the harp as people began enter the theater. When arrived, I immediately began to think of a way to get an unique photo of her playing the harp. I knew that I wanted to play on single light that was falling on her. The black curtain provided a great background, allowing Jordan and the harp to be the only things lit with the lights. After several tries, I finally caught this photo. It took a little while to get her face in focus and get the right framing. The harp provides a nice framing as she plays and focuses on the music in front of her.
Overall, the photo may not be my best, or technically perfect, but I liked it. Let me know what you think of the photo or share comments (or critiques) by commenting below or emailing me at thomas.graning@troymessenger.com.
