As a group, Troy must replace all but their holder. Here is a look at the 2012 Trojans on special teams.
KICKER
Michael Taylor leaves after a somewhat disappointing senior season. Taylor missed four extra points (29-33) an six field goals (8-14) in 2011 but overall had a nice career. The Trojans did sign a kicker in Ryan Kay back in February who could handle both kicking and punting and do have several other options on the roster. Senior Spencer Martin saw some action against WKU when Taylor left with an injury.
PUNTER
Will Goggans departs after averaging 40.8 yards per punt in 2011. Again Kay could do the job but Troy has also been recruiting Will Scott who averaged 42.3 yard a punt and was ranked the No. 3 punter in NJCAA as a member of Gulf Coast CC.
SNAPER
Hunter Graham was listed as Wes Henry’s backup in 2011. There will likely be an open tryout for this spot in 2012.
HOLDER
Jaquon Robinson will return as the team’s holder.
